This review has been a long time coming. Please accept my apologies for the delay, and for the length it’s turned out to be. I’ve used Sport DJ many times since purchasing it around 2018. It’s become an essential entertainment tool for me at minor hockey games and tournaments which I always use, and is superior in every way to my previous phone playlist setup. During my original install, I had a program initialization issue on my end. The fast response, troubleshooting, and service to quickly resolve it was amazing, and I was running within minutes! Despite my initial reservations to use such an app afterwards (for fear of it cutting out during song playing), it’s been stable since day 1, and has never failed to disappoint. I continue depending upon it to this day at every game. I particularly appreciate the button customization options, overall ease of use, next song feature, song blending, home goal button (the inherent horn blast before song list play is awesome!), and big play button with standout color (very useful when juggling between announcing, scorekeeping, and music). Like others, I have a few potential upgrade thoughts for your consideration. They in no way reflect the existing product, which I’m quite happy with. -Now Playing & Next Song Waveforms: Perhaps these features could be updated to display small waveforms & play times, each having the ability to slide to any audio point and pause. This could allow you to start at “the good part” of any audio file (ie main chorus, beat drops, etc), without needing to do a song edit beforehand. It may be possible to reduce the playlist frame size vertically by a couple of selections to accommodate this if necessary, without detracting from playlist usability & aesthetic appeal. Alternatively, perhaps the Picklist tab could become this feature, if it was found more space to display these waveforms was needed (I’ve only ever gone by the Main playlist, I’ve never used Picklist & don’t even know what it’s for lol). This could also have the benefit of allowing the user the option to open it, adjust to whatever play point desired, then hide the waveform screen again & return to the main screen where the Now Playing & Next Song play buttons would be. -Next Song x2: There’s been times when a second Next Song display would have been handy (which would just access the same main playlist). It may allow for a more manual, agile way of transitioning from one song genre to another. For example, I’ve had times where I’d play the current song, hit stop, then quickly hit play again (now the Next Song). The new Next Song I’d see may not be a desired one & I’d have to adjust it on the fly. A second one may allow a little time insurance for the user. -Next Song Searching: I find this feature seems to be limited to certain selections. It doesn’t seem to include my entire playlist, and loops a little to its previous suggestions. This may be something on my end, but perhaps it could just be revisited? I honestly can’t think of anything further to suggest. Great work on Sport DJ! I love it, sincerely appreciate it, and wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone with an interest in upping their DJ game! Thank you for the most used app on my phone, I look forward to any potential future upgrades! Best Regards, Martin M.
I wish we could import songs from Spotify. Only reason I purchased.
I've been using this a few years now in high school sports. I can't play .wma files on my latest phone though. Any thoughts on that area appreciated. Thanks!
Best Hockey DJ app out there! Customer service is fantastic and personal, very satisfied.
Update**** Still dollar for dollar best app purchase I have ever made. I am looking forward to the new version. Ok. Let me be very clear. I was going to design an app just like this for myself. Something told me, why not see if there is one available first? Sure glad I did. Best $7 I have ever spent. Did a test run with limited music within hours of downloading. People were impressed! I look forward to working with the developer to make this app even better. 5+ Stars.
I love this app. The people at my hockey games love what I do with this app. It is straightforward, although some items could work a little smoother (I would *love* the ability to clear the main playlist with a click, and the fact that deleted files show up with null pointers is frustrating, but a google / chrome limitation?) At the start of the season, I load up the goal songs for the teams in my league, I update my list of play break songs, and put the warm-up songs on my picklist. Then to actually run a game is simple.
It does exactly what I needed it to do. Very nice features. It's clunky to use at times and the UI is really ugly. I know there are a lot of things going on within the screen but it needs a professional UI designer to take a crack at making it nice looking.
I used this app with BYU hockey for many many years. Always worked great and Bryan was amazing to work with whenever I had a suggestion or a question about the app. Grade-A work.
How do I iimport music? I have an android, used to have google play until they got rid of it. My playlists were transferred to youtube music. But they aren't actually on my phone. I'm so confused, I really want to use this app! Tx (rating a 5 because I'm hoping this is an awesome app!)
What a great app to use for softball when doing announcements. Easy to add the girls walk up songs, national anthem and different plays during the game.
